Hi, I'm Arnav Verma!I am currently a lab manager ('24) at Stanford University with Dr. Judith Fan. I work on characterizing visualization understanding using humans and vision-language models. Previously, I did my BS ('21) and MS ('23) in Computer Science at the University of Toronto (UofT). Most of my research was conducted at the Dynamic Graphics Project (dgp) Lab, where I worked with my advisor Dr. Fanny Chevalier. I worked very closely with Dr. Jessica Sommerville and Dr. Pierre Dragicevic during my time at UofT. I also had collaborations with Dr. Anna Goldenberg and her PhD students.
My work lies within the intersection of Cognitive Science and Human-Computer Interaction. Using my research, I hope to understand human cognition by studying interactions with graphics and visualization interfaces. I also love building software. Previously, I helped build some for the Toronto Early Cognition Lab (TECL) for over 3 years!
